WCW was one of the best things to ever happen to the WWE. The sudden ascent of genuine rivalry in the 1990s awakened the (then) Federation from its post-Hogan sleep and started the most energizing period in wrestling history. Without the critical need to enhance and advance, to develop the champs of the Monday Night Wars, there's no telling where the organization would have wound up before the end of the 20th century.
