Any good wrestling game needs a create-a-wrestler feature, where players can either insert themselves into the game or simulate the inclusion of grapplers from other companies or eras. In this area, No Mercy excels like no game before or after.
While create-a-wrestler has become increasingly complicated over the past decade — down to the selecting of individual facial features, such as eyebrows — No Mercy made it simple. After picking a pre-existing face (and there were more than enough to fit anyone’s imagination), fans customized a wardrobe, and then moves. It worked like any other create-a-wrestler, but the utility was off the charts without sacrificing detail. Perhaps the only thing missing was an array of masks, but everything else was stellar.
