8. Unmistakable Graphics
It would be foolish to deny that the graphics of today’s WWE games are head and shoulders above those in the old games, and the pure realism of the visuals adds a lot to the gameplay.
However, there was something charming about the graphics in No Mercy. While the Acclaim video games that preceded WrestleMania 2000 (WarZone and Attitude) opted for as realistic a look as was possible at the time, No Mercy’s more cartoonish look became a beloved signature of the game. Most notable were the wrestler’s faces, always frozen in single grimaced caricatures that, while amusing, were also simultaneously unmistakable as their subject.
