With the recent passing of Dusty Rhodes fresh in our minds, we should be reminded again that rivalries make pro wrestling companies compelling. Rhodes vs. Flair and Rhodes vs. Blanchard made the NWA tons of money in the 80s, just like Austin vs. Rock made the WWE tons in the late 90s.
Randy Orton is arguably one of the best wrestlers to ever wear a pair of tights, yet between Triple H and John Cena he actually has yet to really have that “breakthrough” HUGE money opponent.
