Seriously consider the idea of Randy Orton doing something similar to John Cena and having competitive TV matches every week as the Intercontinental Champion. Done laughing yet? Exactly, The idea’s completely ludicrous and likely will never happen because Orton’s so great as a wrestler that he comfortably fits at the top of the company.
The difference between John Cena and Randy Orton is that Cena will always feel like a work in progress as an in-ring technician, whereas Randy Orton is so gifted as a performer that him being cast in any other role than “Heavyweight Champion” feels like it’s not believable.
