10 Reasons WWF No Mercy Is Still The Best Wrestling Game Ever
7. Stolen Finishers
The ability to use an opponent’s finisher against him is a feature that seems so simple, yet it adds so much drama to gameplay — and it hasn’t been implemented correctly since No Mercy.
Originally a part of THQ’s WCW games (World Tour and Revenge), executing an opponent’s finisher was as easy as executing one’s own. While in position to perform the move — usually a strong grapple — a player needed only press A and B simultaneously to steal a finisher (rather than move the joystick to use a traditional finisher). Just like that, players across the world could infuriate their friends.
